Research Infrastructure & Collaborative Facilities

At Coimbatore Institute of Technology (CIT), our research facilities are designed to bridge the gap between academic theory and industrial application. By integrating state-of-the-art instrumentation with global corporate partnerships, we provide a robust ecosystem for scholars to conduct high-impact, interdisciplinary research.

Industry–Institute Research Collaboration

CIT takes pride in its strategic alliances with global technology leaders and international academic bodies. These collaborations provide our researchers with access to proprietary tools, specialized training, and real-world problem-solving environments.

  • Indo Norwegian Collaborative Project (INCP 2014 & UTFORSK 2017)
  • Workforce Development Program (WDP) with Oracle Corporation
  • Virtualization Center of Excellence with Novell
  • Pioneer Research in Medical Engineering in Collaboration with Leading Hospitals
  • OpenCL Technology collaboration with AMD
  • Mobile Application Development in ANDROID and BADA with Samsung
  • High Performance Computing (HPC) with IBM

Interdisciplinary Research Centers

Our research is not confined to silos; we encourage cross-departmental innovation in several emerging domains:

  • Sustainable Tech: Smart Materials, Smart Structures, and Green Building technologies.
  • Robotics: Development of Robots for specific industrial and medical applications.
  • Intelligent Systems: Nanotechnology, Modeling & Simulation, and Embedded Sensors.
  • Digital Infrastructure: Advanced Cloud and Grid Computing frameworks.
