About the Office of the Controller of Examinations

The Office of the Controller of Examinations (COE) plays a vital role in safeguarding the academic credibility of the Institute. It is responsible for planning, administering, and monitoring all examination-related activities, ensuring that assessment processes are conducted with fairness, accuracy, and transparency.

Key Responsibilities

The COE office oversees a wide range of academic evaluation functions, including:

  • Conduct of Examinations
    Planning and administering all internal and end-semester examinations in accordance with the approved academic schedule for every programme.
  • Appointment of Examiners
    Identifying and appointing competent faculty members and external experts for question paper preparation and theory paper evaluation.
  • Assessment of Practical and Project Work
    Constituting specialized Examination Committees to evaluate laboratory examinations, project reviews, and viva-voce assessments in an objective manner.
  • Result Compilation and Declaration
    Coordinating the processing, verification, and finalization of examination results, followed by official publication after approval by the Result Passing Board (RPB).
  • Issue of Academic Records
    Preparing and distributing official grade sheets and academic statements to students.
  • Academic Reporting
    Generating detailed performance analysis reports and presenting them to the Academic Council for review and quality assurance.
  • Recommendation for Degree Award
    Verifying eligibility and formally recommending qualified candidates for the award of degrees upon successful completion of program requirements.

Additional Services

Beyond examination administration, the COE office also provides essential support services such as:

  • Issuing certified transcripts and duplicate academic records
  • Verifying the authenticity of certificates and mark statements for higher education and employment purposes
  • Coordinating and organizing the Annual Graduation Day, marking the culmination of students’ academic journeys

Office Administration

The Office of the Controller of Examinations is headed by the Controller of Examinations, assisted by a Deputy Controller. Together, they are supported by a committed team of thirteen experienced and qualified staff members who work collaboratively to maintain the integrity, reliability, and efficiency of the Institute’s examination system.
