B.E. Civil Engineering
The Department of Civil Engineering was started in the year 1956. This was followed by a Postgraduate Programme in Structural Engineering in 1969 and a Ph.D. Programme in Civil Engineering in 1978. A Postgraduate Programme in Environmental Engineering was started in 2005, followed by a Postgraduate Programme in Construction Management in 2011.
The department has a team of highly experienced faculty members with rich academic and industrial experience in various frontier engineering and technology areas. The faculty and students are dedicated to addressing current industry needs and continuously improving their expertise in Civil Engineering. They excel in specialized areas such as Structural Analysis & Design, Structural Optimization, Concrete Technology, Steel Structures, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, Transportation Engineering, Earthquake Engineering, Remote Sensing, Impact Assessment, and Prestressed Concrete Structures.
