The Management

Established in 1956 in Coimbatore, the V. Rangaswamy Naidu Educational Trust (VRET) is dedicated to advancing technical education in Tamil Nadu. Founded by visionary industrialists and philanthropists Prof. R. Venkataswamy Naidu and Prof. P. R. Ramakrishnan, the Trust launched the Coimbatore Institute of Technology (CIT) in 1956, followed by the CIT Sandwich Polytechnic College in 1961.

Years of Excellence in Education.

Our leadership has a deep-rooted history of service:

Prof. R. Venkataswamy Naidu served as Correspondent from 1956 to 1994.
Prof. P. R. Ramakrishnan was our Founder-Principal for 25 years and Correspondent for 12 years.
Dr. S. R. K. Prasad took the helm as Managing Trustee in 2008, followed by Sri. S. Rajiv Rangasami.

The mission of CIT is to "impart high quality education and training to its students to make them World-Class Engineers with a foresight to the changes and problems, and pioneers to offer innovative solutions to benefit the nation and the world at large".

The Institute strives to inculcate a sound knowledge in engineering along with realized social responsibilities to enable its students to combat the current and impending challenges faced by our country and to extend their expertise to the global arena.
