The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) plays a vital role in sustaining and enhancing the standards of higher education in NAAC-accredited institutions. At the Coimbatore Institute of Technology (CIT), the IQAC functions as a strategic unit committed to continuous improvement. It promotes academic excellence by embedding innovative practices, accountability, and quality-driven processes across all institutional activities.

The IQAC is guided by the following key objectives:

• To establish a systematic and consistent mechanism for planned improvements in academic delivery and administrative efficiency.
• To strengthen institutional development by fostering a culture of quality and ensuring the effective adoption of best practices in everyday operations.

To fulfill its objectives, the IQAC undertakes a wide range of quality-enhancing responsibilities, including:

• Developing and implementing measurable quality benchmarks and performance indicators for academic and administrative units. Encouraging a learner-centric academic environment that supports excellence in teaching, continuous faculty development, and the use of modern pedagogical tools and participatory learning methods.
• Designing and administering a structured feedback mechanism to collect and analyze inputs from students, parents, alumni, employers, and other stakeholders. Disseminating information related to evolving quality standards and best practices in higher education.
• Organizing internal and external seminars, workshops, and training programmes focused on quality enhancement, while promoting the formation of departmental and institutional quality circles.
• Maintaining detailed records of quality-related initiatives, reforms, and outcomes for transparency and continuous review. Managing and updating an institutional database through the Management Information System (MIS) to track performance and support informed decision-making.
• Promoting a strong and sustainable culture of quality throughout the institution.
• Preparing and submitting the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) in strict adherence to NAAC guidelines and assessment criteria.
