Minimum Qualifications:
- A pass in HSC (Academic) with Maths, Physics and Chemistry (OR)
- A pass in HSC (Vocational Stream) with Engineering Vocational subjects and any one or two of related subjects (Maths, Physics and Chemistry) (OR)
- Diploma in one of the Engineering Courses (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics) (OR)
- Any other Equivalent qualification approved by the State Board of Technical Education/Higher Secondary Board of Tamilnadu.
- Candidates belonging to communities other than SC/ST should have passed the qualifying examination in not more than two appearances. Candidates belonging to SC/ST should have passed the qualifying examination in not more than three appearances.
Minimum Marks:
- For SC/ST candidates, a mere pass in the qualifying examination will suffice.
- Candidates belonging to communities other than SC/ST should have obtained the following minimum percentage of marks.
A) H.S.C. (Academic) and other equivalent candidates
- OC – 45% average in the related subjects
- BC – 40% average in the related subjects
- MBC & DNC – 40% average in the related subjects
- SC/ST – 40% average in the related subjects
B) H.S.C. (Vocational) Candidates
- OC – 45% average in the related subjects
- BC – 40% average in the related subjects
- MBC & DNC – 40% average in the related subjects
- SC/ST – 40% average in the related subjects
C) Diploma Holders
- OC – 45% average in the related subjects
- BC – 40% average in the related subjects
- MBC & DNC – 40% average in the related subjects
- SC/ST – 40% average in the related subjects
