Financial Assistance and Scholarship Opportunities

Our institute is committed to making higher education accessible by ensuring that financial limitations do not hinder academic progress. To support undergraduate students, we facilitate more than 24 government and private scholarship schemes, offering assistance to students from diverse backgrounds. 

Important Guidelines and Timelines

Students applying for financial assistance must carefully adhere to the following conditions to ensure continued eligibility:

  • Application Deadline: Scholarship applications must be submitted using the prescribed forms to the Principal’s Office within 30 days of the institute reopening or the date of admission, whichever is later.
  • Supporting Documents: All relevant certificates and documents must be enclosed at the time of application. Incomplete submissions will not be considered.
  • Single Scholarship Policy: A student is eligible to receive only one scholarship or fee concession at a time.
  • Academic and Disciplinary Requirements: Continuation of financial aid is subject to maintaining the minimum attendance percentage stipulated by the University. Any form of serious misconduct, including involvement in strikes or ragging activities, will result in immediate cancellation of scholarship benefits.

Government-Sponsored Scholarship Schemes

The institute supports a wide range of central and state government scholarship programs designed to address social, economic, and merit-based needs. 

Community and Social Welfare Schemes

  • Adi Dravidar Welfare Scholarships: Includes General and Higher Education Special schemes
  • Backward Class (BC) Welfare Scholarships
  • Minority Welfare: Tamil Nadu Minority Merit-cum-Means Scholarship
  • Agricultural Background Support: Tamil Nadu Farmer Social Security Welfare Scholarship

Merit and Regional Scholarships

  • State Excellence Awards: Chief Minister’s Scholarship and Arignar Anna Award 
  • Interstate Scholarships: Available for students from Pondicherry, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Meghalaya, Shillong, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Nagaland, and Mizoram 

Special Category Scholarships

  • Support for Women Students: AICTE Pragathi Scheme
  • Assistance for Differently-Abled Students: Physically Handicapped Scholarship and AICTE Saksham Scheme
  • Occupational Category Scholarships: For children of teachers, defense personnel, ex-servicemen, and deceased government employees
  • General Merit-Based Support: Gandhi Memorial and Merit-cum-Means Scholarships

Mandatory Fee Concessions (As per Rule 92 – MER)

In accordance with the Tamil Nadu Educational Rules, students admitted under Government-Aided programmes are eligible for a full tuition fee waiver if they belong to any of the following categories

  • Scheduled Castes (SC)
  • Scheduled Tribes (ST)
  • Converted Christians from SC/ST communities

This concession is granted irrespective of the family’s annual income.

Private and Trust-Funded Scholarships

Students may also seek financial assistance from reputed private organizations and trusts, including:

  • Tamil Nadu Educational Trust
  • Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC)
  • Siragugal Scholarship Scheme
