Coimbatore Institute of Technology, chemical engineering students participated in the IIChE SCHEMCON 2026, the 22nd Annual Session of the Students’ Chemical Engineering Congress, held at MIT Academy of Engineering, Pune , on 11 and 12 September 2026. The conference centered on the theme “ Chemical Engineering: A Pathway for Viksit Bharat, provided students with an opportunity to gain academic exposure and interact with the wider chemical engineering community. A total of 48 participants from Coimbatore Institute of Technology, comprising 26 male students and 22 female students, attended the event. The CIT delegation actively participated in the conference and represented the institution with enthusiasm and professionalism. Two Faculty members Dr.B.Uma Maheswari and Mr.P.Babu accompanied the students.

At **SCHEMCON 2026**, held at **MIT Academy of Engineering, Pune, Maharashtra**, students and faculty members of Coimbatore Institute of Technology received several notable recognitions. **Thrishik Rajendran, Tawfiq C, Dhayananth S, Uma Maheswari B, and Thirumarimurugan M** received the **Consolation Prize – Best Presentation (1st Prize)** for their paper titled *“A One-Pot Strategy for High-Stretchability Self-Healing Polymers Based on Thioctic Acid Copolymerization.”* **Prabhakaran Ramesh, Vivek Joe Bharath, Thirumarimurugan M, Prabhakaran D, Gnanaprakasam A, and Gaanapriya V** received the **Overall Best Paper Award – 2nd Prize** for their research paper titled *“Biofabrication of Self-Recovering Mycelium-Based Adaptive Membranes for Advanced Separation Processes.”* In addition, **Adhisayaa S, Dharshana R A, Hannah Christy A, Gnanaprakasam A, Thirumarimurugan M, Sivakumar T, Sivakumar P, and Nisha Subash** received the **Consolation Prize – 1st Prize** for their paper titled *“Biomimetic Honeycomb Structured AI-Laser System for Sustainable Dye Remediation.”* These achievements highlight the strong research capabilities, innovation, and academic excellence demonstrated by the students and faculty of Coimbatore Institute of Technology at SCHEMCON 2026.
