Approved Intake Compliance

Coimbatore Institute of Technology strictly operates within the student intake limits sanctioned annually through the Extension of Approval (EoA) for all undergraduate, postgraduate, and research programmes.

The institute consistently maintains the prescribed faculty–student ratio for engineering programmes, ensuring effective academic mentoring and quality classroom engagement.

Faculty Recruitment and Credentials

Faculty appointments and career progression are governed by AICTE-prescribed pay scales and service regulations. All teaching staff possess the requisite academic qualifications, including NET/SLET or doctoral degrees, in accordance with regulatory norms. 

Curriculum Design and Benchmarking

As an autonomous institution, CIT periodically updates its curriculum in alignment with the AICTE Model Curriculum, incorporating emerging and interdisciplinary areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Robotics, and Data-driven technologies.

Academic Infrastructure

The campus provides adequate instructional space, including classrooms, laboratories, workshops, and drawing halls, meeting or exceeding the area requirements specified in the AICTE Approval Process Handbook.

Dedicated facilities are maintained for academic administration, faculty workspaces, student common areas, and healthcare services to support day-to-day institutional functioning. 

Library and Learning Resources

The Learning Resource Centre is equipped with a comprehensive collection of textbooks, reference materials, and access to national and international e-journals, supporting teaching, learning, and research activities.

Computing and Digital Access

Students and faculty are supported by campus-wide high-speed internet connectivity, licensed software tools, and an appropriate computer-to-student ratio. 

3. Student Welfare, Safety, and Governance Committees

To ensure a safe, inclusive, and transparent academic environment, the institute has constituted the following statutory bodies :

Anti-Ragging Committee and Squad

Functioning in line with AICTE regulations, with preventive, monitoring, and redressal mechanisms in place. 

Internal Complaints Committee (ICC)

Established as per statutory provisions to address matters related to workplace safety and dignity. 

Grievance Redressal Committee (GRC)

A structured mechanism, including an online portal, for addressing grievances raised by students and staff. 

SC/ST Welfare Committee

Oversees the effective implementation of reservation policies and support schemes for students from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
