Dr. V. G. Kalpana

Academic background

Dr.V.G.Kalpana is presently working as Assistant Professor (Sr.Gr) in the Department of Civil Engineering, Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore, India. She lectures on the subjects Mechanics of Solids, Strength of Materials, Mechanics of Fluids, Maintenance and Rehabilitation of structures, Engineering graphics ,Experimental stress analysis at the under graduate level and Health monitoring of Structures, modern construction materials at the post graduate level.

Dr.V.G.Kalpana did her under graduate studies in VLB Janakiammal college of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore and obtained her B.E. Degree in Civil Engineering from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore in the year 1999. She did her Post Graduation in Infrastructure Engineering, in PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore and obtained her Master Degree from Anna University, Chennai in 2007. She did her research on Behaviour of RC members strengthened with Textile Fabrics and obtained PhD award in the year 2013 from Anna University, Chennai.

Dr.V.G.Kalpana has 2 years experience as Draughtman in Interior Design office from 1999-2000.

Dr.V.G.Kalpana has teaching experience at under graduate level in Avinashilingam Deemed University from 2000 to 2003. She joined as Lecturer in December 2000 and taught subjects like Mechanics of solids, Structural Engineering, Engineering Drawing, Design and Drawing, Irrigation engineering and relieved from her duties on July 2003.

Dr.V.G.Kalpana has joined in Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore in June 2007 as Lecturer. From June 2010 she is working as Assistant Professor.

Dr.V.G.Kalpana is a Life Member in Indian Society for Technical Education and Associate Member (AMIE) in Institution of Engineers (India). She was associated with the Research Project of Behaviour of fabric structure and reinforcing efficiency of textile reinforcements in RC structures funded by AICTE.
