Academic background
Mr. M. P. Muthuraj is presently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore, India. He lectures on the subjects Strength of Materials, Structural Analysis, Reinforced Concrete Structures, Prestressed Concrete Structures, Advanced Concrete Design at the under graduate level and Matrix Methods and Stability of Structures at the Post Graduate Level.
Mr. M. P. Muthuraj did his under graduate studies in Tamilnadu College of Engineering, Coimbatore and obtained his B.E. Degree in Civil Engineering from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore in the year 1996. He did his Post Graduation in Structural Engineering, in Government College of Technology, Coimbatore and obtained his Masters Degree from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore in 1998. Highly interested in the field of Composite structures and pursuing research on Studies on Composite Plates under Anna University Chennai.
Mr. M. P. Muthuraj has teaching experience at under graduate level in VLB Janakiammal College of Engineering and Technology from 1998 to 2000. He joined in August 1998 as Lecturer and taught subjects like Engineering Mechanics, Basic Structural Design, etc and relieved from his duties on June 2000.
Mr. M. P. Muthuraj has 4 years of field experience from July 2000 as Assistant Engineer in Tamilnadu Highways Department. He executed and designed several projects like Construction of Rural Roads, Public Buildings, Roads under PMGSY up to July 2004
Mr. M. P. Muthuraj has 10 years of teaching experience at under graduate level and 4 years at post graduate level. He joined in Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore in August 2004 as Lecturer (OG). From June 2010 he is working as Assistant Professor.
Mr. M. P. Muthuraj is a Life Member in Indian Society for Earthquake Engineering. He was Staff Advisor for Civil Engineering from 2005 – 2010. He was Treasurer for faculty club from 2006 – 2009. He was Overall Time Table Coordinator for the Institute in the academic year 2008 – 2009. He was Time Table Coordinator for the department from 2007 – 2010. As a faculty of Civil Engineering at Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore, he has under taken several consultancy works in the area of concrete technology and non destructive testing. The concrete mix design and non destructive testing done for various organizations such as L & T, IOCL, MES, AAI, Southern Railway, TNEB, SP & Co, ,Private and Public Sector Companies. He did several designs for multi storeyed buildings, retaining walls, Water tanks for Government, Public and Private sectors. He also involved in the design of Foot bridge (25m span) for Air Foce at Race course, Pipe carrying bridges at Thanjavur (1000m length & 250m length), Box Culvert at Coimbatore Airport (90m length), Skew bridge (15m span) at Wellington, Suspension bridge (40m span) at Kalrayan Hills, Villupuram
