Dr. R. Sathyanarayan Sridhar

Academic background

Dr R. Sathyanarayan Sridhar completed his bachelor’s degree (1996) in civil engineering from Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore which was then affiliated to Bharathiyar University, Coimbatore. He obtained his masters degree (1998) in Foundation Engineering applied to Vibratory Systems from Maulana Azad Regional Engineering College, Bhopal. Latter he was awarded doctorate degree (2010) by Anna University, Chennai for his thesis entitled “Studies on Coastal Dynamics of Cauvery Delta Coastline using remotely Sensed Data”

After completion of master’s degree, Dr. R. S. Sridhar worked as Assistant Engineer in the Department of Rural Development of Government of Tamilnadu from 1998 to 2001. From November 2001 onwards he is serving for Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore in the capacities as Lecturer and Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil engineering. He is handling courses for UG and PG students in Mechanics of Soils, Foundation Engineering, Remote sensing and Geographical Information Systems.

Besides teaching courses, he actively involved in research works and consultancy works in the area of soil Investigation, Foundation Design and GIS.
