About
Our Legacy and Future
Since its inception in 1986, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering has evolved from a foundational academic unit into a high-energy hub for technical innovation. We don't just teach code; we foster an environment where academic rigor meets real-world application. Today, we offer a versatile undergraduate B.E. program alongside a deep-dive Ph.D. track that explores the many facets of modern computing.
A Cross-Disciplinary Vision
We believe that the most significant breakthroughs happen at the intersection of different fields. Our vision is to act as a "Center of Excellence" by blending Computer and Information Sciences with the Natural Sciences and core Engineering branches. This cross-pollination of ideas ensures our students don't work in a vacuum, but instead learn to solve problems that have a meaningful impact across multiple industries.
The Project Development Cell (PDC)
Learning by Doing Bridging the gap between a classroom and a career is one of our top priorities. In the 2024–2025 academic year, we launched the Project Development Cell (PDC) to give this effort a dedicated home. The PDC is essentially a launchpad for our students, providing them with a space to tackle real-world projects, gain entrepreneurial insights, and develop the "industry-ready" mindset that employers look for.
World-Class Infrastructure and Global Reach
Our facilities are designed to mirror the high-end environments found in the global tech sector. This commitment to quality is reflected in our placement record; our graduates consistently land roles at world-renowned firms like Oracle, D.E. Shaw, Toshiba, HyperVerge, and Tekion. Beyond just landing jobs, our alumni have built a powerful global network, holding leadership positions in both research and industrial sectors across the world.
Strategic Industry Partnerships
We stay at the cutting edge by maintaining active, strategic MoUs with both national and international organizations. From UniLogic Technologies in Singapore and Information Data Systems in the USA to local leaders like Maxbyte Technologies and Kanini Software Solutions, these partnerships are vital. They allow us to align our curriculum with current market needs, facilitate collaborative research, and open doors for our students to pursue high-impact career opportunities.
Vision
To emerge as a premier center of excellence in computer science and engineering education, cultivating a generation of globally competitive professionals who lead with innovation and technical mastery.
