Continuous Learning and Career Assessment Progression (CLAP) Cell

CLAP cell is a part of Career Guidance and Counselling Cell (i.e. referred as CGC) in Coimbatore Institute of Technology. The cell provides high-quality education in the form of offering short courses, professional training and expert services for high school students ,working professionals non-working professionals, entrepreneurs, students and (staves or staffs).

Vision

The Cell is a place where faculty, conveners, students, researchers and industry experts work in a collaborative environment to create rich, healthy, active learning and teaching experiences. The cell increases the success of the student’s performance, build industry partnerships and encourage individuals to be the part of active teaching learning community.

Purpose

The aim of the Cell is to fulfil the requirements of lifelong learners. Cell has a strong believe in academia industry partnerships, community and value of dynamic minds.

The Cell will:

  • Be integral to the academic mission of the institution
  • Be vital in offering short courses and training to the local and international community
  • Be integrated with career guidance cell(CGC) and provide career support service to the CIT students.
  • Provide curriculum design support for teaching traditional /virtual short courses
  • Leverage industry partnerships to train faculties on cutting edge technologies and offer value added certification courses
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, students in the form of interdisciplinary projects, experiential learning, community-based teaching, internships and research.
  • Connect systematically with teaching learning initiatives taken by the departments

Cell Values

  • Engage more collaborations and provide it back to community as part of OUTREACH
  • Strongly bring together the institution, continuing education and community
  • Provide innovative opportunities for staff and students
  • Provide career assessment support services for CIT student community

Offered Programs

Cell will offer more diverse programs to fulfil the industry needs and career progression support to CIT students community. The program are as follows :

  • CIT certified short courses from all engineering and science disciplines to external community.
  • Flexible learning certificate programs offered on weekends, evening sessions, virtual learning sessions, summer and winter breaks.
  • Career development programs offered via short courses, one credit courses and micro credential courses.
  • Courses on cutting edge technologies and soft skill development.
