Academic background

Karthik Kalimuthu is Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Coimbatore Institute of Technology, India. He obtained his B. E. in mechanical engineering from the Anna University, Chennai in 2005. He obtained his M.E. in Engineering Design from Anna University, Chennai in 2007.

He served as assistant manager with Renault Nissan Technology and Business Center India Private Limited, Chennai for two years and six months before joining academia. He has executed many VA / VE projects in suspension system for strength and durability using finite element analysis.

He worked as lead engineer with HCL Technologies Ltd, Chennai for four years and six months and was involved in the design and analysis of surgical tools used in ultrasonic devices for endoscopic surgery. He was also involved in validating the structural integrity of redesigned frames from center fuselage to rear fuselage in C-27J aircraft.
