Academic background

Dr.Narasimmalu Rajam Ramaswamy is currently working as Associate Professor and Head at Coimbatore Institute of Technology (CIT), Coimbatore, India. At CIT, Rajam teaches and guides graduate students in the frontier areas of Mechanical Engineering. Apart from academia, he is also involved in various developmental activities of the institution and the society at large.

Dr. Rajam Ramaswamy holds a doctorate in the field of Mechanical Engineering with specialization in simulation of manufacturing systems. Rajam has two decades of varied Industrial experience both in India and abroad coupled with academic excellence. He has carried out studies related to Production line simulation for optimal performance and enhanced return on Investment for the textile industries.


Dr. Rajam focuses his innovative engineering skills on applications of simulation of strategy planning for manufacturing organizations to provide the best yield of manpower, machinery and materials.

Dr. Rajam has also worked on Projects related to Product Design & Development using Re-engineering and Quality Function Deployment for textile machineries. Another interesting area which Dr.Rajam has worked relates to establishing Protocol for minimizing breakdown time of Plant and machinery for a construction firm in the Middle East.
