Dr. A. Saran Kumar

Dr. A. Saran Kumar currently serves as an Associate Professor at Coimbatore Institute of Technology in Coimbatore, India. He earned his Ph.D. in Information and Communication Engineering from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore. His educational background includes a Master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore, and an MBA degree in Human Resources from Bharathiyar University, Coimbatore. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology at Coimbatore Institute of Technology, Coimbatore. He has developed strong expertise in teaching and research, particularly in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Data Mining.

He has an extensive academic record, with over 25 papers indexed in Scopus, 9 papers in SCI-indexed journals, and 10 papers in various international journals. Additionally, he has presented more than 50 research papers at various national and international conferences. His research contributions also include 7 filed patents, with 3 patents already published. He has completed 20 courses on NPTEL and 5 courses on Coursera. He is a recognised supervisor of Anna University, guiding four Ph.D. scholars. He has successfully completed two funded projects under the TNSCST Student Project Scheme and one AICTE ATAL FDP program worth ₹3.5 lakhs. He is actively involved in reviewing research papers for several prestigious Elsevier and Springer journals.
